Windows n More

The windows are finally in and are beautiful, now we have full air flow throughout the house. Lynn's been busy building me a garden workbench thing and organizing the assorted implements of gardening in the small garage. She also finished cutting up all the wood that was left behind by the previous owner. Now we have a giant but neat pile of boards n stuff to throw into the outside fireplace. It's thirty today so I don't think we'll be having a fire tonight :) The kitchen reno guys are amazing in both languages...the outside molding they put around the new windows is beautiful and talk about well insulated...foam...and caulking everywhere and as neat as can be. They had to move the vent for the microwave which involved moving all of the siding on the rear of the house around the old vent...quite the operation. K, I'm off to make supper....Momma is starving...come to think of it so am I!

Togetherness

What are brothers for if you
can't sniff together?

We're bird people you know

Yes, we have birds of every stripe and feather or feathered stripes anyway. We have three doves, a family of crows, two families of robins, untold numbers of bright yellow finches, their ordinary brothers, two different woodpeckers, two redheaded sparrows, and a chipmunk no less. All of them are beautiful to watch and endlessly entertaining. We watch them over morning coffee. The outside of the property is slowly shaping up, all of Lynn's fish survived in the pond with all of the rain we have had and they have grown big too, must be a lot of bugs in that water. They're coming up now for regular food so things have obviously gotten under control underwater. The grass seed is coming in all over the place, and the sod around the septic and patio as well as by the garage has taken root and can hardly be distinguished from the old grass. I'm also starting to get the hang of the ride'em tractor, I only use 1/2 a tank of gas to do the property now instead of 1 and 1/2 tanks. Less power and more thinking involved. I'm gonna start paying attention to Zamboni drivers, they know what they're doing.

Hopefully, one last upheaval!

As you can see from the previous posts, the reno's have begun. Floor windows, heaters, tile, cupboards, countertop and sink and taps. The next two weeks should be fun without a sink. The appliances are waiting for this work to finish and they can be delivered so that was good news and the fireplace, hopefully will be finished this week. We should also here from the plumbers regarding the water treatment this week. With any luck it will all get done in this two week period.

Secure floor

Apparently the subfloor under lino needs to be secure so it doesn't move. I don't think this floor will ever move.

So It Begins

Remember that beautiful stove, it's time to fix up it's surroundings.

Patio's Done

Picked up the fireplace for the patio and now that all the bricks have been put in, it's complete. Of course, it's going to rain for the next three days so we likely won't get to make a fire right away but I know Lynn won't wait long!
